Excited for our friends @mclainsmarketkc, their new NKC location is OPEN! In the wee hours, we installed balloons in the prettiest of autumn colors to greet their first customers. And then we went back in the daylight to buy all the treats! 🍪🧁☕️

Let’s get this party started!! This series of bouncing arches, anchored with our giant mirror orbs* welcomed guests and drew them toward the cocktail hour of @kcpetproject’s gala. ❤️

*We aren’t kidding when we say “giant.” Our giant mirror orbs are available in sizes from a tiny 2’ to an enormous 10’!

Celebrating the Olympics! We’ve been creating rings from 8’ wide to an enormous 20’ wide set suspended in a cavernous gymnasium and torches in several fun styles, including some with illuminated “flames” on top. You all are in full on celebration mode for Team USA!

Saying goodbye to Qualatex…
(For our customers, Qualatex was the world’s oldest balloon manufacturer. It was announced this week they will no longer be made. Zero impact to your events, a bit of sadness for balloon artists.)

We have @qualatex to thank for setting our business off on solid footing. In the mid-1990’s Johnna worked at a flower shop that received their Balloon Images magazine. Her manager would toss it, Johnna would dig it out and study it, while her manager declared no one would ever want elaborate balloon artistry. Well, here we are!

Qualatex gave us many educational opportunities, covering not just the basics of balloon design but business and marketing and even safe rigging. They created a certification and put us through our paces to gain it. They created a network of artists connecting us internationally and more importantly with our local colleagues, some who spent an evening in a hotel room in Las Vegas with John practicing tying knots for the next day’s practical exam to become a Certified Balloon Artist. Along the way, lifelong friendships with our balloon peers formed, some became family. Qualatex has had a big hand in this. Conventions, sometimes with over 1,000 balloon artists, are like family reunions. (Cont’d in comments…)
